About Raviky Photography

Raviky Photography was founded in 1998 by my wife, shortly after we had our first son. This sparked her interest in photography.
Over the years, she has built a strong and solid reputation in the photography world, capturing various celebrities and many beautiful bridal couples.
In 2013, she also started doing newborn photography, which ultimately became her specialty.

Unfortunately, this career came to an abrupt end after she passed away in 2022 from ovarian cancer after a very short illness. She has left a great void in the newborn photography world.

Let me introduce myself…

My name is Dirk, and I am the husband of Sandra, the founder of Raviky Photography. Over the years, I’ve assisted her on many shoots as a jack-of-all-trades, and this is where my passion for photography began.

Her specialty was newborn photography, a field that wasn’t really my cup of tea. My specialty was portrait photography, pet photography, and product photography, and editing them into a beautiful and high-quality final product. I also find urban photography fascinating and can often be found in Haarlem’s beautiful city center on weekends.

But that’s not all; I also enjoy and passionately do wedding photography and Trash the Dress shoots because I’m a true people person and love to capture them at their happiest. Recently, I’ve also started exploring a form of photography that’s still somewhat taboo: funeral photography.
I find this a beautiful and respectful way to commemorate a loved one. In my images, I try to capture the small but deeply meaningful moments. Think of that hand on the shoulder, that final farewell. For me, funeral photography is celebrating the life of our departed loved one in a stylish way.

Why I love what I do…

Strolling the streets of a beautiful city with your lover, or running with your dog on the beach at sunset. For me, it doesn’t matter who I’m photographing or what the occasion is. As long as I can see the love radiating from them. If I can feel that genuine emotion behind my lens, the photoshoot is a success for me.

Of course, wherever I go, I look for the beautiful nooks and crannies, the perfect lighting, and the person with that characteristic face. But what I truly love about what I do is making people happy with something that’s already inside them. I just have to hold up a mirror and show them how I already see them.

It’s about having fun, about genuine, pure emotions, and creating memories that will last forever.
